Toyota Australia. Glass Organs.

Saatchi LA sent me to Saatchi Sydney to temporarily join the creative team there, as Creative Director and Art Director.

The Toyota account was in review, and their office was fighting to keep it.

The idea for this brand work was built on something Toyota had never talked about publicly. THUMS - the Total Human Model for Safety - is a virtual human body accurate enough to model what a crash does to bones, ligaments and internal organs. Toyota had been developing it since the nineties.

But, outside the engineering department, nobody had heard of it.

We brought this to life by commissioning a glass body. The body and its internal organs - heart, kidneys, lungs, oesophagus - hand-blown by a team of three glassblowers. Then we told the story around it.

The press execution ran on iPad, in the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age.

(Viewers could tap the screen and watch the organs take the impact.)

Saatchi Sydney kept the account.
